1st Sample Pack for the MTM November 2008 - January 2008 Music Competition

Hi!

MTM has given the 'OK' to get the first sample-pack on the plate and kick start the first competition.

All 10 of the submitted samples have been chosen for this first sample-pack. Many thanks to
Citrus Audio, Clinton Lobley and Throbber for providing us with the cool raw material we will all be using, twisting, messing about with in the next few weeks.

A zip file with all 10 sample files (and individual files) are attached to this post.

For the first run of this series of competitions there will be no imposed genre! Do your best, do your worst and do it in any style you want!

The track length is still limited to 1 minute... your 1 minute of fame :)
"Make it interesting. Make it kick ass. Make it less than 60 seconds!"

So, don't go for length, e.g. 6 minutes long track but spend the time you have available to polish your 1 minute track and make it sound as good as you can. (MTM may review the length allowed for submitted tracks but for this first run let's keep it tight, fair for all and quality over quantity)

By the way, if your track is only 1min long you have more chances that other members will listen to the whole of your track instead skipping through it :). Anyway, this is the first run, so let's see how it goes, let's generate some feedback and MTM will adjust parameters based on what we do with this first run.

- Tracks should be submitted in 192Kbps MP3 format
- You have until the 15th of January 2008 to submit your track
- Only samples from the sample pack can be used to make your track.... so if you need a PAD sound and the sample pack doesn't have one you will need to manipulate available samples to make one!
- Reply to this thread and upload your track when ready

With holidays in the way, better we allow all the way up to the 15 of January for most people to have the time and create their 1 minute masterpiece.

Well.. let's get our hands dirty, produce some kick ass track and have fun along the way.

Hey man thanks.

All of those abbreviations you jsut listed meant nothing to me haha!

Im using ACID Pro 6 atm. ACID Pro 7 is due for arrival at the end of the month (unless Amazon are lieing to me again).

Aside from effects plug-ins and instruments thats the only software im using. No other editors or anything.
