Extreme FX Plugins, VST and Dxi , what do you Recommend, Or maybe you have a few useful tips, when it Comes To Making sound FX or mashing up your Audio and Midi.
Sidechaining and ducking i have quite a bit of this to do in my latest track, just got to go through the different elements of this and see what parts i can use to duck others parts, so looking forward to really adding some extra dimension/breathing and pumping, things are going quite well on my new track, like they say always improving always getting better.
allthough i have been a bit gutted to find that the sidechaining in live 8 does not work with Vista 64X, i have had no choice but to use Vista 64X as i have no other OS.
although ableton does not directly support 64bit platforms, it still worked okay in live 7, but sadley live 8 has given me a whole shed of complications, so over this next week i will have to revert back to the old method of sidchaining in ableton.
Any body using Basement Arts Reflex, i need a good beat slicing Vst that also has a radom beat shuffling/slicing Function,
can anybody tell me how plug-in is, i cant seem to find a working demo link.
Looking for something similar to how reasons rex player randomises its slices, but only with more sample like capability, hence Relex is looking like an option.
Hi, I am sure I have seen a new of a release on an upgrade to a loop slicer plug in a few weeks ago but I can't remember which one it was. If it pops back up in my head I will post here.
I would think Kontakt from Native Instruments could be worth considering, it does slicing, maybe randomising but you can edit single slices envelops, mute them, etc... I didn't read on Reflex yet, but will do I guess
I think kontact is a little long winded for me, i have planty of samplers and players, I need/prefer something that i can just drop audio too and get this randomise/shuffle, helps getting some unexpected variations in quick time, i use ableton live, so i need fast workflow to accompany, as i loop over sections to test ideas on the fly as suppose to setting out with a plan, i like the probability aspect.
Again thanks, and do let me know about this other option.
Yes I Tried This, Just after my last section i wrote in this thread, And it may be a top contender, going see how it fairs, over the next couple of weeks, see what beat sections i can drop back in for re introducing as breaks layers etc.
The phatmatik did not move the slices as i had wished, but i have found a new one, that is also a freebie, and its got some simple to use slicing and slice moving techniques. i will post more info after further tests, is was made for fruity loops 8, but the guy hass also got this up as a vst freebie.
I've used Glitch before, but I find it crashes alot when I use it with Live (might just be my set up tho). I use Camel Space for some effects which is wicked and its solid as f**k.. Going to look into Effectrix, and see how that stands up..
What version of live are you using Helo, i have not had any problems running it with live 8 and vista 32X with 8GB Ram allthough my Pc is quadcore, but my laptop is only a pentium 4 running XP32 and i have struggled on that with Glitch.
Allthough i find Glitch a little too eractic, and only seems to be good for cutting out very short snippits, still wort experimenting for these bits, but on the whole Better of for me to make some effect racks within live with beat repeats etc, As being a live user i personally know better how to control my racks automation.
if audio i sometimes slice to midi and add the random midi device amongst other FX.
I dont think you can ever have enough sound mangling plugins
Another plugin i am meaning to get is mathons choppitch, awsom slipping and sliding type Pitch/Gate/filter
just a pity the demo is only good for a brief test without the sound cutting, but still Show some great potential http://www.mathons.com/chopitch.htm
