MTM Studio Net

Competition 2 is over and you've all really raised the bar in quality. Competition 2 Here.

What's left but to make a start on competition 3!
Does anyone have any suggestions on sample submissions? It may be quicker for me (Alex) to just compile a small selection again, or maybe the samples could be compiled by the winner...?! Also, do we possibly want to make things a little bit more difficult and have slightly fewer samples? Let's get the ball rolling and try and make this competition even bigger than the last!

Your suggestions below, thanks.

For the samples, Just pick a theme. Like household items or industrial machines or nature sounds. Then supply everyone with the same pack or maybe there will be more than one pack to choose from, depending upon the spirit of the artist. Then we will compose out of the themed packs/pack of samples MTM has put together. And we should all be allowed to use human voice along with our sample packs/pack to allow us the freedom to personalize our creation's.

Well...
It just so happens I've been in discussions with Sugar bytes (www.sugar-bytes.de) about them offering up one of their awesome bits of software as a prize. Had a bit of a crazy busy summer but am now back on the case.

Why not get us all to record the samples!!! and set a time limit to upload and you choose the best sample pack and create the song from there??

Hi Jon Paul,

Yeah... we did that with the first competition, but ditched it for the second to save time! It's a good idea, maybe we could put it in place again...
I need to get in touch with TC and have a chat about getting this going, but we'll work something out. The other idea I had was to wander round the MTM office and record things from there!

How about samples to film? a public domain film (I can shoot the footage or you can have my permission to use already footage canned!!) use the samples to tell the story of the footage.
What do you think?
