I used to love transposing a 8 or 16 step bassline when songwriting.
I can't find how to achieve this using Cubase Studio 4 or Reason though I am sure the tools must be there. I would like to be able to set up a sequence which can be transposed in real time via MIDI.
It seems Cubse step sequncer doesnt respons to a live MIDI input and nor does the reason ones as far as I can tell. I'll have to break out the old Pro one it seems. Maybe this is a niche not yet exploited by 3rd party VST?
If you want to tranpose a track, just select all note and come to Midi - tranpose.
If you want to fast-tranpose a verse, select , rite click ur mouse, and choose "show info". You will see some text writen up on the file, one of them is transpose, just fix it.
I'm using Cubase and never find any MIDI tranpose type which affects directly to the track.
Thanks Mark
I am using readon 4.1 and I have a Novation 25LE controller so I should be able to do this. Can I transpose a sequence form the Keyboard directly or would it have to be one of the rotary dials?
Cheers for youor input
Great Thanks Mark.
I will try it out and let you know how I get on.
I find a simple bass riff can inspire me to write and simple key changes like this are a real boon.
