I know you do a lot of your own midi, but a tip for you
dont rule out cinema/movie/orchestral sample collections
Their has also been some great samples on the MTM DVD/CD over the issues.
They have some wicked soundscapes that i am sure will give for some more creativity and expression and allow for new ideas to evolve too.
