more about me!!!!!!

I was born in 1964 and my parents were always big music fans, (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Hollies) and as a result I developed a love of music early on in my life.
Around 1975 I began to discover and listen to the music of the likes of Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Tangerine Dream and Mike Oldfield. Then, in 1976, a French man by the name of Jean Michel Jarre released the classic album OXYGENE!!!!!!!!!

I always wanted to create music by in the style of the people listed in my influences/heroes section but it is only over the last few years that has become a reality, thanks to the advances in computer software.

I have recently been revamping my laptop set up as I bought an Apple Macbook and it is so much better than using windows for music creation and production.
I use Reason 4 (or at least I have for the last eleven days since I got my upgrade to the new version). The new sequencer offers some really interesting and innovative ways to create layers of sound which gives the music a much more Human feel.

I also use Ableton Live, as this gives me the opportunity to both create my own original parts using an array of VST and AU software instruments and FX plugins but also to make use of the many royalty free loops that are available out there.

Amongst the VST instruments that I use are:
Absynth 3
FM7
CS80v
Greenoak Crystal
and Virsyn Terra 2.

Anyway, I hope that you like my music if you have a listen to it.

Best wishes from Mindwalk2007......

Some of my favourite all time albums by influences and heroes;

PARADISE (1983) by Robert Schroeder..... This is a great album and makes fantastic use of the PPG WAVE 2.3, especially for choir sounds. The first two tracks.. MOMENTS and IN MEMORY OF PARADISE are truly outstanding.

ENCORE (1977) by Tangerine Dream..... Recorded live during the bands first US tour, a truly outstanding album that makes great use of the Mellotron, the first sampling instrument.

FORCE MAJEURE (1979) by Tangerine Dream..... Another great album that makes use of the synths that were designed by Wolfgang Palm (founder of the long defunct PPG company)...

ANGST....(1984)....by Klaus Schulze..... This is another favourite album and makes great use of the Fairlight CMI....

ZOOLOOK...(1984) by Jean Michel Jarre. Another album that makes great use of the Fairlight CMI and it also contains more samples than you can shake a stick at.

Another highlight of my long interest in EM was attending the UK ELECTRONICA festival back in 1983. One of the acts that performed during the afternoon was Ian Boddy (who did the sound design for Morphology, Outer limits and Analogue Sequencer Loops from Zero G). Ian performed material from his first vynal release THE CLIMB and used a Yamaha DX7, the first time that I had seen or heard this legendary instrument.

What I'm working on at the moment!!!!!!

I have two more tracks that I am working on using Reason 4 and these are called BREATHING STRANGE ATMOSPHERES, which is an ambient track that has a few elements and hints of KRAFTWERK in the track. I'll upload it here as soon as I have it finished. The other track is called CINEMATIC LANDSCAPE but this is something of a misleading title as the track is very much in the style of Jean MIchel Jarre. Again, I will upload it here as soon as I get it finished.

Another thing that I like to do… Continue

You like Jarre, please listen to my track Blues 4 Thandi, that is using CM Eve an EP plus Solina pad. I am using Interruptor delay and phasers and chorus. Crude but effective backing for Eric Gale gtr attempt. Thandi is a lovely young woman I lost when I was still loaded. Will listen to yr trax asap, connection just went down again

trying to make u my firend like I say most comms from SA look like spam attacks to yr servers because of the mindless greed and stupidity of some ISPs. When they talk about arrested devlopment this is it. Lot of Africans making electronica amazing crossover stuff happening we use same loops result can be different hypnotic delays and such, love Pondualr Sophia Interrupto delays CM EVE for DX7 epiano sound and mda epiano thru VST fx. back soon hard to collect frinds constant dropped connecttio makes things tricky no spyware or bots on my pc
