Review of a Portable DAW/Hardware Q1 Ultra + energyXT2

MTM, what about a review of the Indamixx Portable Studio (based on Samsung Q1 Ultra hardware)

In combination with your view on energyXT2 DAW

I would really love to know your opinion on such a solution, and how well it would work with external Hard Disks to maybe use it together with something like Goliath (installed on external Hard Disk) you reviewed in the current Issue 65 of MTM

just a wish :)

Indamixx looks like an interesting product... although a tad overpriced given the hardware spec I'd say (unless that's $1199 Hong Kong). As far as external devices go, keep in mind it's running a Linux O/S kernel, so you might get some issues with USB/Firewire support.

Yes it looks interesting and the idea behind it is that their custom OS uses the Samsung hardware as a dedicated (sort of) audio workstation; a bit like Neko does, or a bit like keyboard workstations do. So everything is supposed to be streamlined and super efficient for music production instead running plenty of non music necessary processes you would have running under a normal installation of Windows for example

On another forum the guy behind indamixx said they were running 12 tracks with energyXT and over 30 in Ardour (sort of nuendo/pro tools DAW); they use these apps together the same way you would use Logic then take the audio into Pro Tools...For a portable device with touch screen it may be enough and possibly more versatile than groove boxes.

There is interest, curiosity and doubts... I guess an MTM review would clear things up :)
