I've never heard of binaural beats but from what I read was that humans hear sound as it comes to their ears from different sources and flows through and around the head etc as it enters each ear. So a binaural recording is one where the mics are situated where the ears are with dummy head in between (or someone wears the mics near their ears) and you get a very different listening experience. Almost sounds like 3-D. Some people even use them to record FX or natural spaces. Check out this site as it has some binaural recordings http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/whatIsFreesound.php
cheers

We got some great photos of the show last night. It rocked!
Just listening to the Crocodile Hunter.Cool. Same vocal.
The theory of binaural beats as I understand it is that two slightly different frequencies played in separate speakers creates a third, implied frequency that becomes the beat.
I've also been listening to music for healing that is recorded specifically for headphones - for example using a 'binaural beat' to reprogramme the brain rhythms to be more effective.
I would love to visit those ancient sites - those mysteries appeal to me, but it's a long swim from Australia! Down here we have places like Uluru.
Still love that disturbing vocal. I can hear that it sits right out in the mix because it's not competing with anything.
Side note: going to see Silverchair and Powderfinger tonight. Have you heard of these great Aussie bands over there?
Daniel Johns from Silverchair is married to Natalie Imbruglia if that's any help - I believe she is known over there...! Maybe that's not your cup of tea, but it will be good to see stadium rock for a change - not something I do often.
My style varies depending on what I feel like and what I have to work with. I like having my own style and not fitting into any one category - but then I don't have to market this for anyone so there is no pressure.
I have been mixing and monitoring on a home stereo - mostly at high volume. i am hoping to replace these over the coming weeks with a pair of HS80m's and a sub-woofer, but we might have to get through Xmas first!
That's a freaky vocal on GLASS (good). Do you also mix on the headphones? You seem to have a very broad stereo lay-out in that song.
I like your style and the reference to Stonehenge. Cool!
that track sounds interesting and the vocal is good, good voice and character.
Nice
